Actor Nayanthara To Marry Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan In June; Details Here

Actor Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan who have been courting each other for six years now will be getting hitched next month. The actor, in an interview, was quoted saying that she got engaged to Shivan in a private ceremony a few years ago.

Vignesh Shivan is a well-known filmmaker and producer, with films like Podaa Podi, Naanum Rowdydhaan, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, and Paava Kadhaigal, and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.

In 2015, Vignesh Shivan met Nayanthara while working on Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Nayanthara played the female lead in the movie Shivan was directing. Last year, they announced their engagement and now reports suggest that the couple will exchange vows in June 2022.

Although the couple is yet to publish an official statement on their wedding plans; reports have quoted sources close to them, saying that the much-anticipated wedding will take place on June 9.  The wedding will allegedly be an intimate, family-only event performed at a temple.

The wedding is expected to take place in Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam, according to reports. The wedding ceremony is planned to be small and modest, with only close relatives and friends in attendance.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan had reportedly planned a destination wedding but had to cancel it due to a lot of concerns. The pair will organise a huge wedding celebration for their industry friends in Chennai. Reportedly, the party will be as grandeur as possible.

Nayanthara's most recent film appearance was in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhaal, in which she starred alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu; the film was directed by Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara is reportedly also making her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

After the success of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, the couple also went to Tirumala Tirupati to seek blessings. The filmmaker also posted it on his Instagram account. "All that we ask is your love & backing dear Thirumalayaneyyyyy!!!," he said with a photo of himself and Nayanthara in the temple.
