Navarasa release time: Filmmaker Mani Ratnam has joined hands with director Jayendra Panchapakesan to create a nine-part anthology that not only boasts of an impressive cast and crew, but also a unique subject. Ratnam's fruit of labour will be out on OTT today for the world to see. The anthology has created a nationwide buzz, despite being a Tamil-language project, and viewers are now counting seconds till it is streaming time.

The nine-part anthology showcases nine rasas or emotions, each helmed by a different director. Not just that, each part of this magnum-opus project boasts of a separate music director and cinematographer as well.
Cast of Navarasa
The anthology boasts of an impressive cast, featuring both veteran and current favorites of the Tamil cinema. The cast for the anthology is led by Southern superstar Suriya, alongside actors Parvathy Thiruvothu, Geeta Kailasam, Prayaga Martin, Vijay Sethupathy, Siddharth, Remya Nambeesan, Aditi Balan, Anjali, Arvind Swami and Atharvaa. It also features stalwarts of the industry, such as Revathy, Prakash Raj and Delhi Ganesh.
The anthology will also mark directorial debut for Swami, who has helmed the the segment Roudhram, apart from featuring in Karthick Naren's segment Project Agni. Swami, however, isn't the only actor who has a dual association with the project. Direct Gautham Vasudev Menon has helmed the segment Guitar Kambi Mele Nindru, featuring Suriya and Martin, but he is also one of the lead actors in Karthik Subbaraj's segment Peace.
What to expect from the Navarasa anthology
Prior to its release, the makers of Navarasa had released nine posters of the anthology, one for each segment. Here are all the segments of Navarasa, alongside details about their cast and the theme on which they will touch.

Edhiri- Compassion
This Revathy, Prakash Raj and Vijay Sethupahy starrer has been directed by Bejoy Nambiar, who has directed Hindi films like Taish, Wazeer, David and Shaitan.

Summer of 92 – Laughter
The short that focuses on the theme of laughter features actors Nedumudi Venu, Yogi Babu and Remya Nambeesan and has been directed by Priyadarshan, who is best known for his comedy films like Hera Pheri, De Dana Dan, Hungama, Hulchul, Chup Chup Ke and Bhul Bhulaiyaa.
Starring Geetha Kailasam, Abhinayashree, Sree Raam, Riythvika, and Ramesh Thilak, this segment has been directed by Arvind Swami. While AR Rahman has provided music for the segment, Santosh Sivan has helmed the cinematography.
Navarasa will start streaming from 12: 30 PM on August 6, on Netflix. Anyone with a valid subscription of the OTT platform can start streaming it from the said date and time.
