Mumbai Diaries Release Date And Time: Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is a nail-biting thriller set in a hospital that tended to the people who were injured in the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. It is a tribute to the courage exhibited by frontline workers and the unsung heroes who worked hard to save lives.
It also throws light on the personal stories of the characters whose loved ones were held hostage in the hospital. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series comprises eight episodes spanning the attacks’ first 24 hours. It was written in 2018.
Cast
The series stars Mohit Raina, Konkona Sen Sharma, Tina Desai, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satyajeet Dubey, Natasha Bharadwaj, Mrunmayee Deshpande and Prakash Belawadi.
Advani's statement
In a statement, Director Advani said that the series offers a perfect blend of emotions and drama through a versatile ensemble of actors who have put in their hearts and soul to bring to life this story. He also said that the series offers a different perspective to the dreadful night of 26/11 which hasn’t been explored on-screen so far.
The first look of the series was unveiled last year on the 12th anniversary of the attack. It was slated to release in March 2021 but it got postponed. The teaser of the series was released last year.
In an interview with India Today, Konkona Sen Sharma said that she wanted to work on a show that she would like to watch too. Mumbai Diaries 26/11 is her digital debut. She says that the movie is actually a tribute to the frontline workers as the terror attacks haven't been seen from the point of view of the medical community.
Mumbai Diaries 26/11 will be available on Amazon Prime Video from September 9th.
