Mrunal Thakur And Aditya Roy Kapur To Be Seen In Upcoming Crime Thriller, Details Inside

Actors Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur will reportedly be working together for an upcoming crime thriller, which is titled Gumraah. This will be the first time ever that the two actors are collaborating on a project.

T-Series and Cine1 Studios announced its upcoming crime thriller Gumraah on January 31 which will be starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. The movie is made under the production of Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani while Vardhan Ketkar will be directing it. The movie is reportedly the Hindi remake of 2019 Tamil movie Thadam that starred Arun Vijay, Vidhya, Yogi Babu, Smruthi Venkat and Tanya Hope in important roles. The Tamil movie was directed by Magizh Thirumeni.

Aditya Roy Kapur-Mrunal Thakur In Gumraah

The movie is Mrunal Thakur and Aditya Roy Kapur's first project together. This will also be the first time that Aditya Roy Kpaur will be seen playing double role in his career so far. The movie will showcase a face-off between Thakur's character which is a cop and Kapur's characters. Talking about her role in the film, Mrunal Thakur reportedly said, "When I heard the story of the film, I instantly knew that I needed to be a part of this film. My character is very intriguing and playing a cop has been on my checklist. This will be a very distinct role from all the characters I have played till now and I am looking forward to audiences watching this one".

The movie is slated for theatrical release on April 7, 2023. Earlier, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Bawaal was scheduled to release in cinemas on April 7. However, due to VFX and technical issues, the movie was postponed after which Gumraah took the slot for that day. Currently, Aditya Roy Kapur will be seen in Amazon Prime's The Night Manager starring along with Anil Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala. Mrunal Thakur, on the other hand, will be starring in Telugu family drama film opposite actor Nani and has started shooting for the same.
