12th Man: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal took to Twitter to announce his new mystery thriller film titled 12th Man. The Malayalam superstar is partnering up with Drishyam and Drishyam 2 director Jeethu Joseph yet again for the film.
The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad cine. Mohanlal also released the first poster of the film, which features the actor standing in front of a mysterious bungalow. The poster gives the aura of a horror thriller. The poster features the caption, “unveiling the shadows”.

According to reports, the shooting of the 12th man will start as soon as COVID-19 restrictions ease down. Mohanlal and Joseph were also scheduled to team up for a project Ram, the shooting of which was to be occur in London. However, because of the advent of the second wave, Ram has been currently put on a halt. The movie stars Trisha Krishnan as the leading lady
Earlier this year, the duo had come out with the sequel to their 2013 hit murder mystery Drishyam. The sequel marked Mohanlal’s return as George Kutty and was released on OTT due to COVID-19 restrictions in the nation. There are talks about yet another sequel in the Drishyam series. However, not much is known about the porject.
12th Man and other Upcoming projects
Mohanlal is currently working on his directorial debut Barroz. The actor also announced his highly anticipated film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which will be going for a theatrical release. The period drama was delayed by over a year and is now slated for a big-screen release on August 12.
The actor will also be seen this year in Malayalam action-drama Aaraattu. Reportedly, the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 14 October 2021. Oscar winner music composer AR Rahman is associated with the movie.
Mohanlal will also be seen in Prithiviraj Sukumaran's directorial debut Bro Daddy, which will be a family drama.
