Punjabi singer Kiran Kaur has bagged a pivotal role in the television drama series Udaariyaan. The project is helmed by actors and husband-wife duo Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta.
Kaur will be seen playing the character of Pammi Bua in the show. The singer told a leading daily her reaction when she found that she has been roped in for the role.
"I was on cloud nine when I was first told that I shall be playing the character of Fateh’s Bua who is the lead in Udaariyaan. It’s a blessing of waheguru ji that He gave me such a wonderful opportunity,” she said.
Kiran Kaur who has been singing since her childhood never imagined working as an actor one day.
“I have always been open to taking up new challenges in my life and career, I feel if one is ready to experiment in life, the chances of success increase exponentially," she added.

-Kiran Kaur started performing on stage at the age of five.
-Initially, she shot to fame with a music reality show Awaaz Punjab Di Season 3, where she was among to 10 finalists.
-The singer who made her debut with the song Copyright also won the mission TV award for best Punjabi vocalist.
-Recently, Kiran has recorded a Haryanvi song from the makers of the Haryanvi hit number Razi Bolja which is slated to release in July.
-Earlier this year, Kaur, who has been focusing on bringing back the magic of Punjabi folk, performed at the Lucknow festival organized by the Ministry of Minorities, under ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
-Sharing her opinion on the current state of Punjabi music, she said, “I think the youth, particularly Punjab's youngsters, are being doled out Punjabi songs that most of the time promote weapons, objectify women and glorify materialistic possessions”.
