Meet Pratibha Ranta, The Actor In Kiran Rao's Upcoming Project

Pratibha Ranta looks like is all set to star in Kiran Rao's upcoming film, which will be produced by Rao's former husband and actor Aamir Khan. Ranta is a television actor who grew immensely popular with the serial, Qurbaan Hua, in which she plays the role of Chahat.

In the television serial, she played the role opposite to Karan Jotwani, who became a household name with Aap Ke Aa Jane Se. Ranta will reportedly star in Kiran Rao's upcoming film along with Jamtara star Sparsh Srivastava and Peshwa Bajirao's fame Nitanshi Goel.

The shoot reportedly began on January 8 this year in Pune and is scheduled to be wrapped up by April this year. The shoot will continue till January 10 with proper COVID-19 protocols in place and resume after a break. This is Rao's directorial venture after 12 years since Dhobi Ghat, which has launched Monica Dogra as an actor opposite Aamir Khan.

The project will be reportedly written by Biplab Goswami and the screenplay will be by Sneha Desai. The music for the film will be given by Ram Sampath and the lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Who Is Pratibha Ranta?

Ranta hails from Daroti in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The actor has two siblings- an elder sister and a younger brother. Born on December 17, 2000, she studied at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in Shimla.

From a young age, she was interested in performing arts, particularly dance. Later, she got a degree in dancing from the Shimla Dance Centre. Since then she has won reality shows like Dance Himachal Dance in 2016 and the Indian hip-hop championship in 2017. Later, she moved to Mumbai to pursue her dream of becoming an actor.

In Mumbai, she learn filmmaking and enrolled herself at the Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management. She began her career with modelling and in 2018 she won the Miss Mumbai title. Soon after that, she got featured in television commercials and photoshoots.

In February 2020, she was offered the role of Chahat for Qurbaan Hua. Other than acting and dance, she is interested in photography.
