Mandy Moore son name has a sweet story behind it: Actor and singer Mandy Moore recently gave birth to her first child with her husband Taylor Goldsmith. She recently took to her Instagram to reveal the story behind the meaning of her newborn's name– August. Moore shared a picture of the newborn sleeping with a small grey blanket with his name embroidered across it, writing that August was the month she and husband Goldsmith found out they were having a son.
"It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it's also Taylor's birth month) and we always loved the name... so it was settled very early on in our book," she wrote in the caption. Turns out the blanket was a gift from Goldsmith for the couple's anniversary and holds even more sentimental value as she further wrote, "Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the "A" (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and "T" (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt," she wrote. "Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can't wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day."
Mandy Moore announced her first pregnancy with her husband Taylor Goldsmith, back in September 2020 via an Instagram post. The actor shared three black-and-white photos wherein she can be seen standing alongside a smiling Goldsmith, who is cradling her baby bump. She captioned the pictures, “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021.”
Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith announced their baby's arrival on February 24, on Instagram, sharing that his full name is August Harrison Goldsmith.
"Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith," Moore wrote. The actor also added that her newborn delighted them by being punctual and right on time on his due date. "We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined," she wrote.
Mandy Moore married Taylor Goldsmith, a musician with his own band, in November 2018, after dating him for two years. In 2019, Moore gushed about Goldsmith in an interview with Glamour magazine, saying that he makes her “melt” and that she could not imagine a better partner than him. The This Is Us actor also went on to say, “He’s going to be the most tremendous father. I view the past as a stepping-stone to get me where I am today.
