Mandira Bedi slams troll: Actor and television presenter Mandira Bedi confronted an Instagram troll who abused her daughter, Tara, referring to her as a "street kid" adopted from a "slumdog centre" in the comments section of one of her posts.
Bedi recently shared a few photos her children Tara and Vir on Instagram. While most users and followers showered love on Bedi and her children, one user not only left a demeaning comment but also sent a direct message further targetting her adopted daughter.
On Monday, Mandira Bedi took to Instagram Stories to share screenshots of these derogatory remarks and called out the Insta handle behind them.
"From which slumdog centre did you adopt your prop daughter, Madam?" the user had commented. "The adopted street kid looks completely out of place...u greedy narcissists are scarring the slumdog for life," they wrote in the DM to Bedi.
Responding to the troll, Mandira Bedi wrote in her Instagram story, "People like these need to be given special mention." She also added in a separate story that "sickos like this are the biggest cowards too, who only know how to wag their tongues behind the shield of anonymity."
Mandira Bedi adopted four-year-old Tara along with her husband Raj Kaushal in July last year. the couple also has a biological son, nine-year-old Vir. Sharing the news of adoption on Instagram, Bedi wrote that Tara had "come to us, Like a blessing from above." She also added, "Sister to her Vir. Welcoming her home. With open arms and pure love. Speaking about her decision to adopt Tara in 2019, Bedi revealed in an interview, "Raj and I wanted a sister for Vir. My son is eight and we are looking at adopting a girl who could be between two-and-a-half to four-years-old." She also revealed that the couple had already thought of a name for her. "We are going to call her Tara."
