Malik trailer out: The trailer of the actor Fahadh Faasil’s much anticipated movie Malik was released on July 6. The film was earlier slated for a theatrical release but its producers opted for an OTT release owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director by Mahesh Narayanan, Malik is an edge-of-the-seat political thriller that revolves around the life of Sulaiman Malik (Faasil) who rises to power amidst corruption and crime.
The first part of the video introduces viewers to an older version of Sulaiman, who appears to be of calm, spiritual and cool-headed, despite knowing that both the police and his political enemies are after him. Dressed in white apparel, he comes across as a powerful personality with high principles.
As the plot develops, the viewers are introduced to a younger version of Sulaiman, leading political campaigns, handling plight, and leading a crowd, as he battles all odds to survive.
We also see Malayalam language actor Nimisha Sajayan, in two avatars. The first being an older woman and the second, her younger self. The young actor was part of the highly acclaimed Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen.
The Plot
The film throws light on the atrocities specially carried out against minorities. The director of the film had earlier revealed that this film is inspired by real-life events. Malik reportedly deals with displacement of people of minority communities living in coastal islands as politicians and corporations conspire for their selfish interests.
The Team
Besides writing and directing, Mahesh Narayan has also edited Malik. The film also stars Biju Menon, Joju George, Dileesh Pothan, and Vinay Forrt in pivot roles. Actor Jalaja will make a comeback to films with Malik.
The team of Malik also includes Take Off cinematographer Sanu John Varghese, composer Sushin Shyam, and sound designer Vishnu Govind.
