Tanwar will be seen as a 47-year-old wife and mother who goes beyond her financial and social limits to investigate the death of her daughter. The search takes her to police stations and mafia houses, where she is made aware of her gender and how it makes her vulnerable. This sexism is revealed in one of the scenes shown in the trailer, when she interacts with a cop who casually stereotypes her and says, "You are a woman from a well-to-do home, why are you getting yourself involved in this situation."
Talking about her character, Tanwar told the Indian Express, "The circumstances are very dramatic but the characters aren't. I think that sets us apart from any other genre." She also said that the characters of the film are "very ordinary people, who are put under extraordinary situations." She said that her biggest takeaway from the show was that she came to know her capabilities to act in an intense scene.
