Mai is a much-anticipated crime drama-thriller about a middle-aged woman who is unwittingly lured into the underground after accidentally killing a mafia leader, and her cult gradually gains prominence as a result.
Mai was created and co-directed by Atul Mongia, Anshai Lal, and Mongia. The thriller series was developed by Clean Slate Filmz.
The premise of the series centres around a personal tragedy that brings Sheel (played by Sakshi Tanwar), to a halt. In her quest for the truth, Sheel, a kind 47-year-old mother and wife, is thrown into harsh situations. Sheel has been lured down a rabbit hole of violence and power, where she becomes involved in white-collar crime and dirty politics, altering the course of her life, existence, and the world she lives in.
When no one is held accountable for the rape and murder of Sheel's mentally handicapped daughter, it fuels her determination to gain control of the laws. She goes on the hunt for the criminals and begins exacting vengeance on them all.

Mai Cast:
Sakshi Tanwar, a popular television performer, will be seen in the new thriller web series, Mai. Tanwar is well-known in India for her performances in daily soaps such as Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. She also appeared in the award-winning film Dangal, which starred Aamir Khan. With Mai, the actor will make his first venture into the OTT realm.
Tanwar plays the role of ">Sheel, a 47-year-old housewife who transforms into a detective and delves into the world of crime in order to learn the truth about her daughter's murder.
The cast also includes Wamiqa Gabbi, who has has appeared in films in Punjabi, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu. With a brief role in the Hindi film Jab We Met (2007), she made her screen debut. After that, she appeared in other Punjabi films, including Ishq Brandy (2014), Nikka Zaildar 2 (2017), Parahuna (2018), Dil Diyan Gallan (2019), and Nikka Zaildar 3 (2019). The film also includes prominient actors like, Raima Sen, Seema Bhargava, Vivek Mushran, Prashant Narayanan, and Seema Pahwa.
