The much-anticipated sports drama Liger, which stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday in the key roles, has a release date. Producer Karan Johar shared his excitement in a tweet on Thursday morning.
Boxing champion Mike Tyson makes a special appearance in the film. In the Puri Jagannadh-directed film Liger, Vijay Deverakonda plays an MMA fighter. Ali, Makarand Deshpande, Getup Srinu, Ronit Roy, Ramya Krishnan, and Vishu Reddy also appear in the movie.
Liger Release Date
The action movie is being co-produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Puri Jagannadh, and Charmme Kaur. Deverakonda will make her Bollywood debut with the film, which will also be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Karan Johar tweeted saying, “THE ACTION, THE THRILL & THE MADNESS - it’s going to be a total knockout!”

In the sports action movie Liger, a professional ring boxer's life and aspirations for victory are depicted. The Kickboxer, played by Vijay Deverakonda, undergoes a significant physical metamorphosis in preparation for a boxing match after receiving martial arts instruction in Thailand. Devarakonda's counterpart, Ananya Panday, would play the lead. Fans are also excited about Ananya Panday’s character.
33-year-old Deverakonda Indian actor and producer Vijay Sai, better known by the stage name Vijay Deverakonda, specialises in Telugu movies. He has received a SIIMA Award and a Filmfare Award. With Nuvvila, Deverakonda made his Telugu film debut. Yevade Subramanyam and Pelli Choopulu both garnered positive reviews.
Before the title Liger was revealed in January 2021, the movie had already been confirmed in 2019. Deverakonda's first Hindi-language movie is Liger, while it is the first Telugu-language movie for Panday. Tanishk Bagchi and Vikram Montrose wrote the songs. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a significant pause in principal filming after March 2020, which caused production delays. Principal photography started in January 2020.

Liger is said to arrive in theatres on August 25, 2022. The 23rd of September 2022 is the Liger OTT release date. Many films are either released straight on OTT Platforms or released after being released in theatres.
