When Is 'Khakee: The Bihar Chapter' Releasing?

Netflix announced its first-ever collaboration with the ace Indian director Neeraj Pandey who is famous for blockbuster movies like Ms Dhoni: The Untold Story, Naam Shabana, Baby, A Wednesday and Special 26. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter will be a criminal series expected to release soon.

Khakee: The Bihar Chapter will be Neeraj Pandey's second police-centric criminal thriller web series after Disney Plus Hotstar's Special OPS in 2020. While talking about his collaboration with Netflix, Pandey reportedly said, "As an  admirer of the platform which stands for such diversity in content and formats, I am elated to announce Friday Storytellers's Partnership with Netflix with our upcoming series ‘Khakee-The Bihar Chapter’."

The series will be following the story of Bihar's one of the most notorious drug lords and Bihar police's most honest officers as they face each other in this battle of good and evil. The movie is reportedly inspired by true events and Neeraj Pandey describes it, "This cop and crime thriller, set in the early 2000s, from the heartland of Bihar is a big story which we have been wanting to create and share for sometime and through the directorial lens of Bhav Dhulia and the production expertise of my partner Shital Bhatia, we have endeavoured to bring the flavour alive with the tonality and treatment"

Neeraj Pandey will be helming this project under his banner Friday Storytellers along with Shital Bhatia while Bhav Dhulia serves as the director of the project. The series will star Karan Tacker, Ashutosh Rana, Nikita Dutta, Avinash Tiwary, Shraddha Das, Abhimanyu Singh, Ravi Kishan, Anup Soni, Aishwarya Sushmita and Vinay Pathak in pivotal roles.

The shooting for the series took place in areas of Jharkhand and Bihar and faced delays due to the Covid waves. The series is now ready to grace the screens and its ">teaser was released on October 26. As of now, neither Netflix nor Neeraj Pandey has announced any tentative dates but the series is expected to release by this yearend.
