Karisma Kapoor starred in a commercial that was a reimagining of a legendary TV commercial from the late 1980s and early 1990s. Fans expressed their delight after seeing the ad on social media, claiming it sent them on a nostalgic journey.
The ad replicated the famous Nirma Super Detergent ad from the 1990s, with her clad in a similar white saree and replicating the original's words and mannerisms. Kapoor shared the ad today(March 26) on her Instagram, and captioned, "Maan gaye? (agreed?). Her fans and friends have expressed surprise at the recreation in the comment section, claiming that she took them back to the 1990s.
Karisma Kapoor recreates Nirma ad:
According to the ad, which Kapoor shared on Instagram, the actor enters a shop where the owner greets her and hands over her belongings. Kapoor then points to a "charger" behind the shopkeeper and says, "That's what I want." If the shopkeeper inquires, "You always take the conventional charger... "," she confronts, "Leti thi (used to take")," before offering the credit bounty on the iPhone, which convinces her to change her mind. "Agreed, both your luck and credit bounty's mercy," replies the merchant.
The ad is a frame-by-frame and almost line-by-line throwback to a Nirma ad from the late 1980s. The original commercial, which aired in 1989, starred Dipika Chikhlia, who is most remembered for her role as Sita in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan. The lyrics to "Maan gaye aapki paarkhi nazar" (I am in awe of your acute sight) were immortalised in the ad and became part of pop culture.
