Karan Mehra Nisha Rawal case: Karan Mehra, a popular Hindi daily soap actor was arrested by the Mumbai police last night after his wife, actor Nisha Rawal, filed a complaint against him. The couple reportdly had a spat following which Rawal filed an assault complaint against her 38-year-old husband.

While there have been rumours surrounding the couple's marriage for quite some time, a fight that led to the arrest of Karan Mehra on the night of May 31 confirmed it. A case was registered against Mehra, know for his role in the daily soap Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and he was released on bail on June 1 morning.

• Karan Mehra and Nisha Rawal have been married since 2012. They are parents to a four-year-old son, Kavish Mehra, who was born in 2017.
• Mehra and Rawal's marriage has been under scrutiny in recent years. But the couple has always dismissed the rumours of any rift and claimed that they have a great relationship.
• In a recent interview, actor Karan Mehra had shared that his wife has been taking good care of him through his COVID infection. “I was not in the frame of mind but had to set things straight. Nisha has been taking care of me through COVID” he said.
• Previous reports have also stated that the couple was unable to spend quality time together with Rawal staying back in Mumbai to take care of their son and Mehra spending a lot of time in Punjab for his upcoming projects.
• But all the alleged problems and any form of discord in their marriage were also denied by Nisha Rawal then.
• As per ANI, actor Nisha Rawal filed a complaint against her husband with the Goregaon police. Rawal filed this with the police following an alleged brawl between them.
• Following Rawal’s complaint, Mehra was picked up from the house on the night of May 31.
• A case of domestic violence was registered against Karan Mehra.
• Mehra was reportedly arrested under Section 336 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others), Section 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), Section 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty), Section 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the place) and Section 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
• After the arrest, the 38-year-old actor was later granted bail.
