Kangana Ranaut On Ripped Jeans Twitter: Actor Kangana Ranaut has given her input in the #rippedjeanstwitter hashtag which is being used by many women to express revolt against Uttarakhand CM who said that women wearing ripped jeans paved the way for societal breakdown.
Like always, Ranaut has taken an unpopular stand on the issue. Through her tweet, she posted pictures of her in ripped jeans like many women but she did not necessarily support the campaign. Instead, Ranaut gave her opinion on how ripped jeans should be worn.
In her tweet, Ranaut wrote, "If you want to wear ripped jeans make sure coolness quotient is of this magnitude as in these pics, so that it looks like your style not your state a homeless beggar who hasn’t got allowance from parents this month, most young people look like that these days." Not many welcomed her stance as they objected to her posting pictures of her wearing jeans when she was the one who called "jeans and rags" and said that they represent nothing but 'American marketing'.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat's statement has been creating a lot of buzz lately as many have called him out. The CM in his statement had said that he was shocked to meet a woman who runs an NGO and was wearing ripped jeans. He said," “If this kind of woman goes out in the society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to society, to our kids? It all starts at home."
He added, "Kyanchi se sanskaar (culture by scissors) — showing bare knees, wearing ripped denim and looking like rich kids — these are the values being given now. Where is this coming from, if not at home? What is the fault of teachers or schools? Where am I taking my son, showing his knees and in tattered jeans? Girls are no less, showing their knees. Is this good?”
