Remember the little girl who played Gia Kapur in Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan's film Kal Ho Naa Ho? Jhanak Shukla is all grown up now, and she recently revealed that she is not earning anything at the age of 25.
In a recent video shared by Brut India, Shukla opened up about her current status as she took a break from acting when she was just 15, and now, in her mid-20s,’ she is feeling like a retired person.
Shukla said that she feels like her retirement has already begun, as her parents say she doesn't work as much as she did before. "I chill. I make soaps. I roam. I write sometimes," she said. When asked about why she gave up acting, Jhanak said that she was in her teenage years, around 15 or 16 when she thought of taking a break. The Kal Ho Naa Ho co-star worked a lot in her childhood, due to which she feels she missed a small part of her childhood. Although she attended school on a regular basis, and her parents also made her take breaks in between. "My parents were like 'Take a break now.' So, that's somewhere I lost track when it comes to acting," she added.
Shukla, who is an archaeologist now, added that she never imagined a life like this when she was a child. "I love my life, but when I was small, I thought I will be earning a lot by the age of 24. I will be married and settled, but at 25, I am earning nothing. But my parents are very supportive," she said.
Apart from Kal Ho Naa Ho, Shukla featured in several TV shows like Karishma Kaa Karishma, Son Pari, and Hatim.
