Director Vignesh Shivan's romantic comedy Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is set for release this summer. Vignesh recently shared a Bahubali 2 inspired poster of the film, which features Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The feature film is going to have a theatrical release.
The teaser of the film was released on February 11 and had received a massive response from the audience. So far it has received 527,000 likes.
While sharing the new poster of the film, Shivan wrote in his post, " Happy TWOSDay !!! 22.2.2022 #kaathuvaakularendukaadhal from April 28th in theatres ! Enjoy our teaser and all the songs released more coming soon :)"
In the poster, the film's lead trio can be seen striking Amarendra Bahubali and Devasena's popular bow and arrow pose, with their hands all flashing two fingers.

Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal Release Date
The film is a romantic comedy that features Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Prabhu as lovers caught in a love triangle. It is jointly produced by Vignesh Shivan and Seven Screen Productions. In the project, Sethupathi plays the role of Rambo, who is in love with Prabhu's Khatija and Nayanthara's Kanmani at the same time.
Initially, the role of Khatija was reportedly given to Trisha Krishna. But she reportedly walked out of it due to scheduling issues. The film also marks the debut of Shweta Sabu Cyril, daughter of veteran art director Sabu Cyril, as a production designer.
The film also features Kala Master, Redin Kingsley, Sreeanth, Lollu Sabha Maaran and Prabhu and its music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
The shooting for the film began in April 2020 but it was delayed due to a Pandemic. Then on December 10, 2020, they officially kickstarted the filming in Chennai. Prabhu joined the set in January 2021 and the shoot was wrapped in February 2021. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal was supposed to release in theatres in December but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed indefinitely. There were also rumours which suggested that the film may release online. However, reports of online release were soon rubbished by its makers.
Aside of Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Samantha will also be seen in the mythological film Shakuntalam, in which she will be playing the titular role. Read more on the films recent poster launch here.
