Jahaan Chaar Yaar starring Swara Bhaskar, Meher Vij, Shikha Talsania and Pooja Chopra is not just another reunion of housewives and friends. They are not lavish and luxurious, they are middle class and tied down by the responsibilities of the household. However, they do know that they need to speak up against injustice. The movie is produced by Vinod Bachchan and Kamal Pandey is the writer and director. The movie focuses on a vacation that was supposed to be a break from their ordinary but turns into an extraordinary adventure that they would have never expected.

The ">trailer of the movie begins with four drunk married friends talking about their toxic and not-so-exciting and lovely married lives. They have kept aside their desires and their life is reduced to taking care of the family and looking after the needs of their husbands. A vacation or romantic trip is not in view. We see divorce, patriarchal duties, unhappy sexual life and unfulfilled desires hidden behind the suffering of these women. So to give themselves and their wishes priority, they decide to go on a friend-cation to Goa.

However, things take a crazy turn and the next thing they know is that they are sitting in a police station getting lessons from a police officer on how to take control of their lives and break out of the shackles of patriarchy. Hence begins an eventful journey of making their middle-class families and society, in general, realise their rights and importance. The movie shows the reality of every homemaker who is expected to abide by what society and her in-laws say and worship her husband, even if he treats her badly.

Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhaskar will be reuniting on this movie after Veere Di Wedding which was also based on a friend-cation. The film focused on the life of upper-class women but this time, the focus is on the middle-class section which largely believes that women are obliged to serve men and their families and should not have any desires and ambitions apart from their families. The movie shows how these housewives get bold, and wild and decide to change their life for good.

Jahaan Chaar Yaar also stars Girish Kulkarni, Manish Chaudhary, Akash Dhar, Ali Quli Mirza, Vibha Chhibber and Mitansh Nehra in important roles. The movie releases in theatres on September 16 2022.
