Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur got engaged on Monday to his girlfriend of long time, Mittali Parulkar in Mumbai.
As per reports, the engagement ceremony was a private one which was attended Thakur's teammates Abhishek Nayar, Rohit Sharma and Dhawal Kulkarni. Thakur's fiance, Mittali Parulkar reportedly owns All The Bakes, a start-up firm in Thane, Maharashtra. The ceremony took place at the Mumbai Cricket Association's facility in the BKC and was attended by about 75 guests.
Actor Malti Chahar, who is the sister of cricketers Deepak and Rahul Chahar, also attended the event and shared a picture with the newly-engaged couple on Instagram. In the caption, she wrote, “Congratulations Mittali and Shardul. Wish you all the happiness and love."
Many media reports have claimed that the couple can get married at the International Cricket Council's World Cup event that is going to take place in Australia in 2022.
The cricketer was recently seen playing in the T20 World Cup in the Indian team in United Arab Emirates. He is currently on a break after the tournament. Thakur has gained praise for his bowling form in both international and domestic cricket. During the Indian Premier League of 2021, he stood as the fourth-highest wicket taker. He played from Chennai Super Kings team and took 21 wickets in its title-winning feat throughout the tournament.
The 30-year-old cricketer has also caught attention in the test cricket format. He took seven wickets during India Vs English test series. He also played only two games in the series and scored 50 runs twice in the Oval test. Thakur is expected to play a key role in South Africa where India will play a series of 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and 4 T20 internationals from December 17 to January 26.
