The movie stars Konkona Sensharma, Mohit Raina, Tina Desai, Satyajeet Dubey and Shreya Dhanwanthary in lead roles. The show is directed by Nikkhil Advani. The frontline workers worked courageously and tirelessly to save Mumbaikars who were injured during the attacks. In a statement, the director said that Mumbaikars often discuss the unfortunate night but there are hardly any shows and films that celebrate the doctors who remained on duty to help the injured people in such a crucial moment. He is confident that this will prove to be a unique series because no one has ever explored the doctors’ side amidst the unprecedented crisis that took place so far.
Actor Mohit Raina will be seen essaying the role of a senior doctor at the hospital. He has been given the job of working with few trainees on the fateful night of the terror attacks. They have to attend to those injured in the gunfire at the Gateway of India and several other places in the city. Konkona Sensharma will be playing the role of Chitra Das in the show. She will be seen working as the social services director of the government hospital where the whole story unfolds.
The series comprises eight episodes spanning the attacks’ first 24 hours. The story was written in 2018. Majority of the shooting was done before the pandemic hit India in 2020. The series is set largely inside the emergency room of a government hospital where injured people were being brought.
Mumbai Diaries 26/11 series is slated to release on September 9 on OTT platform Amazon Prime.
