The Viral Fever's Hostel Daze released its third season on Amazon Prime Video on November 16. The miniseries is about a group of friends and engineering students living in a hostel and navigating through love, relations, career and future goals during which they develop an everlasting bond.
Hostel Daze is a reminder of student life and the troubles and joys of living in a hostel. The college drama series is one of the most popular Hindi series on OTT and season 3 was released on Wednesday. The cast of the show includes Utsav Sarkar, Ahsaas Channa, Sahil Verma, Ayushi Gupta, Suraj Chaudhary, Luv Vispute, Shubham Gaur and Nikhil Vijay. Season 3 showcases the third year of the students as two years of fun and freedom end and a new year of newer experiences begins featuring the changing dynamics within friends and college elections. This season will also feature the last on-screen appearance of late comedian Raju Srivastav who passed away in September this year.

Soon after the release of the new season, the reviews on Twitter are out. While some netizens praised the season, others found the writing mediocre. The netizens seemed unhappy with the recasting of Ankit's character who was played by actor Adarsh Gaurav in the past two seasons while Utsav Sarkar was onboarded for the third season.
A Twitter user wrote, "#HostelDaze@PrimeVideoIN Seriously Ankit shouldn't be replaced...and in this season Dopa name and character both were really missing... The character Jhaatu..y this time Jhaatu was powerless...Jhaatu character is really very entertaining but in this maybe director producer". Another one wrote, "It wasn't only @_GouravAdarshisn't the asset @TheViralFever and @PrimeVideoIN weren't able to retain. 4 episodes in, they also lost good writers."
There were viewers who found the new season relatable and funny as this user wrote, "#HostelDaze S3 is so funny and relatable One of the rare shows which has managed to keep a good standard from the beginning. The episodes don’t feel long/forced in any way". A Twitter user wrote about Raju Srivastav's appearance as tea-vendor near the campus and wrote, "#rajusrivastava #hosteldaze Watching the legend on screen one last time". The audience hailed the performances but was upset with the writers regarding the plot.
