Keeping Traditions Alive: Hema Malini And Esha Deol Make Pongal At Home

Celebrating the harvest festival of Pongal with her family, actor Hema Malini shared some glimpses with her fans on social media.

Keeping the traditions alive, Malini prepared the rice and lentil porridge dish named pongal at her home on Friday and shared her picture. In the caption of the picture, the actor wrote, "Celebrated Pongal with the family today. Here I am making the pongal at home.” The pictures she shared were from her kitchen and she is seen posing for the camera as she stirred the dish.

Her daughter and actor Esha Deol also shared the snippets of her Pongal celebrations at home. Like her mother, she also prepared the traditional dish for her daughters Radhya and Miraya. Deol shared a video of her having fun with her family and cooking in the kitchen. The veteran actor and her father Dharmendra reacted the video and wrote, " Happy Pongal" to which Deol responded.

In the caption of her post, Esha Deol wrote, "As the country celebrates the harvest festivals of Sakranti, Pongal, Bihu and Uttarayan. I always make pongal at home for my family (a tradition I learnt from my grandmother) sweet pongal is a favourite with my kids and we all love screaming together ‘polgalo pongal’ as it’s being cooked."

She added: “Sending warm wishes to you and your loved ones. Stay blessed." Dharmendra and Hema Malini have two daughters together, Esha and Ahana Deol. The actor often shares pictures of his life at his Lonavala farmhouse. According to reports, he will be seen in director-producer Karan Johar's upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani KI Prem Kahani. The film will also have Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and Shabana Azmi in lead roles.

Esha Deol recently completed her 20 years in Bollywood. She made her debut in 2002 with the movie Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe. She went on to do many films such as Ankahee, Just Married among others. A few of her most famous films are Yuva, Shaadi No 1, Kaal and Hijack.
