Ten things to know about HBO The Time Traveler’s Wife adaptation: HBO is all set to begin its production of the sci-fi drama series The Time Traveler's Wife. It is said that the show will be “an intricate and magical love story, which tells the story of Clare and Henry, and a marriage with a problem… time travel.” It was recently reported that actors Rose Leslie and Theo James have been roped in to play the lead roles of Clare and Henry respectively.

Here Are 10 Things To Know About The Time Traveler’s Wife adaptation coming on HBO:

1. The Time Traveler’s Wife is based on Audrey Niffenegger's 2003 novel by the same name.

2. It tells the story of a librarian named Henry DeTamble who possesses a genetic disorder that enables him to travel through time randomly. However, this ends up taking a toll on his relationship with Clare Abshire, his wife.

3. The book was adapted into a film with the same name starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams in the lead roles. It was released in 2009.

4. In 2018, Steven Moffat, the British writer and producer behinds Sherlock and Doctor Who, acquired the rights to make a television series based on the novel.

5. “I read Audrey Niffenegger’s The Time Traveler’s Wife many years ago, and I fell in love with it. In fact, I wrote a Doctor Who episode called ‘The Girl In The Fireplace’ as a direct response to it,” said Moffat.

6. Steven will be writing the adaptation, and will also act as the executive producer alongwith Sue Vertue and Brian Minchin for this series.

7. Actor Theo James, known for his performance in the Divergent series and Underworld: Blood Wars and Underworld: Awakening, will be essaying the role of Henry.

8. Rose Leslie who played Ygritte in Game of Thrones will now be portraying Clare. She was also seen in the legal drama The Good Fight, and her upcoming projects include the multi-starrer Hollywood film Death on the Nile, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

9. HBO describes Leslie's character Clare as "a fiery, clever girl who always had an amazing secret."
