The South Korean actor Han Yeri, who was introduced to global cinema audience through the Oscar-nominated film Minari, has signed with Echo Lake Entertainment for U.S representation.
The actor made her American debut with the Lee Isaac Chung directorial semi-autobiographical film. The Academy Award-nominated film Minari, set in the backdrop of rural United States during the 1980s, draws inspiration from Chung’s childhood to present a Korean immigrant family chasing the ‘American dream’.

- The South Korean actor shot to fame after starring in the sports drama As One, which was based on the first-ever post-war Unified Korea sports team who bagged the gold medal at the 1991 World Table Tennis Championships.
- She won the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best Actress for the film in the year 2013.
- Han Ye-ri played her first mainstream lead character in the action thriller films Commitment and Haemoo.
- Besides popular Korean films, she also featured in numerous television dramas including Six Flying Dragons, Nokdu and Hello, My Twenties!.
- Han Yeri has six aunts whom she considered a reference to understand different Korean mothers for her character in Minari. “That served as a big help for me in portraying Monica’s character,” she said in an interview.
- The 36-year-old actor will be starring in the upcoming drama titled Hometown. Han Yeri will play the role of Jo Jung Hyun, who is a social outcast because she is the family member of a known terrorist, in the mystery drama.
