In the popular series, Grace and Frankie are two very different women who don't get along and are left with one another when their husbands, prominent divorce lawyers, reveal that they are homosexual and in love with each other and want to marry soon. For most of the seasons, the sitcom followed Grace and Frankie as they worked together to get over their divorces, get back on their feet, and establish a new life.
The show debuted in 2015 and was renewed for further seasons. It has been nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor Female in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor Female in a Television Series Musical or Comedy. The series stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the lead roles, Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael, and Baron Vaughn in supporting roles.
The seventh season of the show was split into two halves. Will there be Grace and Frankie Season 8?
According to several reports, Grace and Frankie will not be renewed for a new season. When the announcement of the last season in 2020 was disclosed, lead actors Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin released a statement, "We are both happy and heartbroken that Grace & Frankie will be returning for its seventh, but last, season," they said in a statement. We're grateful that our programme has been able to address themes that are particularly relevant to our generation. And their children, and, miraculously, their children! " They promised that they'll"... miss these two elderly girls, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their admirers will, but we'll still be around"
The series' co-creator, Martha Kaufman also explained why the show will stop before season 8 in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. "It was a mixture of things." Netflix no longer produces long-running shows. And we are quite fortunate to have received the seventh season. When we first started, I believe we imagined seven seasons. But, truly, this is the type of decision Netflix makes. " She continued, "But, as sad as I am that it's coming to an end, something about it makes sense."
