The comedy thriller film Govinda Naam Mera follows the story of Govinda, a struggling background dancer.

Govinda is in debt, his home is in jeopardy and his wife Gauri (Bhumi Pednekar) wants a divorce and is demanding two crore rupees. Govinda's girlfriend Suku (Kiara Advani), with whom he enjoys dancing in the Mumbai rains, is the sole bright spot in his life.

However, things take a turn when Gauri is found dead and Govinda is the prime suspect.

Here's how netizens responded to the film.

Govinda Naam Mera Twitter Review

A Twitter user rated the film 3 out of 5 and described it as, "wholesome, fun, fast-paced, and full of surprises and humour."  The user praised the leads Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal and added that the film was the "Perfect weekend masala".

Another user wrote," I'm growing to like Vicky Kaushal. He might surpass several supposedly talented actors. Definitely, #KiaraAdvani will succeed and reach the top."

A user tweeted, "Vicky What a performer you are. Incredible. What a talented actor. His dance movies also astounded me. Kiara's performance was amazing. She can win if she keeps up her current pace. Bhumi is fantastic as usual."

The crowd was apparently taken aback by some startling plot twists in the film.

A user posted, "#GovindaNaamMera I was expecting a masala Bollywood cliche movie, but Last Hour is a Total Roller Coaster surprised me. Vicky did an excellent job, Kiara was as stunning as always, and Bhoomi was the highlight of the film. If I had to rate it, I'd say 3.5/5."

However, there were a variety of responses from online users, some of whom weren't particularly impressed.

One user wrote, "With its climax, it switches to a ridiculous direction, which really forms the movie to be nothing more than a light streaming watch."
