Helmed by Nagesh Kukunoor, the Telugu-sports film Good Luck Sakhi starring Keerthy Suresh was released in theatres on January 28. The film is now scheduled to release on an online platform in different languages for a wider viewer base. The film is about a girl named Sakhi who is blessed with a special gift but is marred by ill luck.
The film is not only directed by Kukunoor but also written by him. the filmmaker is known to have previously helmed movies like Dor, Deewarain, Lakshmi, Iqbal, amongst many others. Good Luck Sakhi revolves around a happy-go-lucky woman named Sakhi Pamar, who is from the Banjara tribe in the Rayalaseema region and has been nicknamed 'Bad Luck Sakhi' by people around her as ill fate follows wherever she goes.
However, her luck changes when a former army man, played by Jagapathi Babu, arrives in the village and is searching for a shooter, whom he can prep. Luckily, he finds Sakhi, who has a natural talent for shooting. The film also features Aadi Pinisetty in a pivotal role.

The makers of the film initially had made a statement that the film will not be released straight on OTT. As many films were heading directly for a digital release due to the pandemic, producer Sudheer Chandra clarified, "There are rumours that we are going for a direct OTT released all over the media. Kindly request the media to refrain from saying so. None of it is true. We will come with an update if any."
">Good Luck Sakhi is Kukunoor's first Telugu film and talking about it, he said that Telugu is his mother tongue and he was always "terrified" to take up a project in this language. He said, "It's like delving into a new language. I knew whenever I do direct, I would have to do a lot of homework."
The film was shot in Hyderabad and Pune and its music has been composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
Good Luck Sakhi Release Date
The update on the film is that after a successful run in the theatres, it is going to release on OTT on February 12. You can watch it on Amazon Prime Video.
