Farhan Akhtar Shibani Dandekar Sangeet Ceremony To Be Held Today: What We Know

Actors Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are set to tie the knot this weekend. The couple will continue with their pre-wedding celebrations on Friday with a sangeet ceremony.

Since Farhan Akhtar is known for his chart-topping songs, apart from being an ace writer, director and producer as well, many are wondering whether he'll be singing for his bride-to-be at the ceremony.

The couple, who have been dating for more than four years, already had their mehendi ceremony yesterday. Rhea Chakraborty, who is a close friend of Dandekar, was also present at the event. Chakraborty is expected to attend the sangeet ceremony today as well.

The wedding festivities are being organised and spearheaded by Dandekar's sisters Anusha and Apeskha.

Reports suggest that the couple will not have a Maharashtrian or nikah wedding, but are opting for a simple ceremony where they will just exchange their vows. They have decided to do so keeping in mind each other's religious backgrounds and beliefs.

India Today reported an unnamed source saying, "Those who know Farhan and Shibani can vouch for the fact that they both have put their love for each other above their last names. It would have been a cliche for them to do a nikah and a Hindu wedding but instead what they have planned is truly beautiful."

The intimate ceremony will be attended by the close friends and family members of the couple and will take place at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's farmhouse in Khandala on February 19.

Akhtar's mother Honey Irani confirmed that the wedding is going to be a private affair. It has also been reported that the guest list will include Meiyang Chang, Gaurav Kapoor, Samir Kochar, Monica Dogra, Ritesh Sidwani, Rhea Chakraborty, Hritik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, amongst others.

Reportedly, the guests have been asked to wear comfortable clothes in pastel or white colour. The couple is expected to host a reception for their peers in the film industry post wedding.
