Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar Tie The Knot, Pictures Revealed

Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar wedding has finally taken place after months of speculations. The couple tied the knot in Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's home in Khandala, Maharashtra.

In the first few pictures revealed from the wedding venue, the bride Shibani Dandekar is seen wearing a red off-shoulder gown with a veil on her open hairdo. The groom is seen wearing a black tuxedo to go with the bride's outfit. The venue décor was kept floral making the bride, groom and the setting complement one another. As per reports, the wedding was an intimate affair with only the couple's close friends and family members in attendance.

Earlier in the day, Shibani Dandekar had posted a picture of her red bridal shows and wrote, "let's do it." The shoes were matched with her wedding outfit. As per reports, the couple walked down the aisle with Suraj Ki Bahon Mein song from Akhtar's film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara playing in the background.

Akhtar's father and famous lyricist Javed Akhtar reportedly recited a poem for the bride and groom at the venue, as per reports.

Reportedly, the wedding was attended by actors Hrithik Roshan, Rhea Chakraborty and producer Ritesh Sidhwani with whom Farhan Akhtar runs his production house Excel Entertainment. Other guests at the wedding venue were Gaurav Kapur, Meiyang Chang, Anusha Dandekar, Monica Dogra, Samir Kochhar among others.

India Today quoted a source saying, "They wanted to keep it as basic and simple as possible. The guests have also been asked to wear easy colours like pastels and whites for the wedding. There won't be a nikah or a Marathi wedding. Instead, they have chosen to make it an intimate vow ceremony. Both have written down their vows which they will read out on the main wedding day, which is February 19."

The wedding rumours started to float on social media in 2021. It was confirmed by Farhan Akhtar's father Javed Akhtar and mother Honey Irani.
