Actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and singer-actor-VJ-model Shibani Dandekar have been dating for more than three years now. The couple is currently busy with their wedding preparations and recently their friends threw them bachelor/bachelorette parties. While they have never shied away from camera eyes or kept their relationship under a viel, many still do not know how it all started.

The meet-cute

The two met at the sets of a reality television show named I Can Do That where Shibani Dandekar was a contestant and Farhan Akhtar was the host. Other TV actors who participated in the game show were Gauahar Khan, Mandira Bedi, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Bharti singh and VJ Bani.

The rumours

Dandekar posted a picture on her Instagram handle some time later her encounter with Akhtar which became quite controversial as it sparked the rumours of the two dating. The picture captured a 'mysterious man' in the frame who had his back to the camera.

However, instead of denying the rumours or dodging them, the two confirmed it when Akhtar posted the same picture on his social media account as well with a heart emoji. The two have been seen posting pictures together since they made their relationship official on Instagram.

Dandekar and Akhtar are often seen appreciating and expressing their love for each other through their social media posts. On Shibani Dandekar's 40th birthday, Akhtar wrote a heart-felt message for his partner, writing, "You’ll always have my shoulder to lean on. Happy birthday @shibanidandekar .. love you."

First appearance as a couple

Shibani Dandekar and Farhan Akhtar made their first public appearance as a couple at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh wedding reception in 2018.

A low key wedding

Reports suggest that the couple had registered their marriage earlier in January already. BollywoodLife also reported that the couple has also decided upon the venue as well as their wedding outfits which are going to be designed by Sabyasachi. Javed Akhtar also confirmed in an interview that preparations are in the works by the wedding planners.
