Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar's wedding was much awaited by their fans as they had reportedly been dating for nearly three years. After much speculation regarding the couple's wedding, the would-be groom's father, famed lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, has finally confirmed the big news.
Javed Akhter, verified the news, adding, “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners," according to his recent interview with Bombay Times.

Because of the pandemic, Javed Akhtar said that only a small number of people will be able to attend the private event. He shared, “Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai.” (wedding invitations have not been sent yet)
"She is a very nice girl," Akhtar said about welcoming Shibani into the family. "She is adored by all of us. Most importantly, Farhan and she get along very well, which is fantastic" he added in the interview.

Furthermore on the wedding, according to another report, both will be celebrating their union with family and close friends at Javed Akhtar and Shabhana Azmi's Khandala farmhouse a day or two after the court wedding.
" Farhan and Shibani have always desired a small wedding and are looking forward to their big day. The gathering will be intimate, with only their closest friends and family in attendance. It'll be all about the food, the music, the laughs, and the celebration" read a report.
The couple reportedly filed the application in early January, and the registration is anticipated to take place on the big day at either of their Bandra homes. According to reports, the couple have been dating for nearly three years, and their followers have been curious about the next step of their relationship.
Danderkar is seen expressing her love for her alleged boyfriend, from getting a tattoo of Akhtar's name to enjoying happy occasions with him and his family. Akhtar also recently wished her a happy birthday.
In the meantime, Farhan is preparing to return to directing with Jee Le Zara, a film starring Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt.
