Earth Hour 2022: Earth Hour, the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, is held every year on the last Saturday of March with an objective to unite millions of people around the world on a mission to save the environment.
How is it celebrated?
During Earth Hour every year, people across the world join hands to switch off their lights for one hour 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in their local time zones. For one hour, everyone who takes part turned off the lights in their homes and offices.

It was started in 2007 by WWF and partners as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney. The objective was to raise awareness about climate change. It engages supporters in more than 190 countries and territories taking concrete actions to ensure a brighter future for people and the planet.

This year the world will come together to agree on a Paris-style agreement for nature, and this presents a once in a decade opportunity for leaders to agree on a plan to reverse nature loss by 2030 and build a nature-positive future."
