Double XL Romi Bhatia Body Shamed

In the Satramm Ramani-directed film Double XL, Huma Qureshi and Sonakshi Sinha play two plus-sized women who fight against a system that labels people according to their body types. Before the movie's premiere, a special screening for some celebrities was held in Mumbai, where many renowned filmmakers attended. In a recent video, Romi Bhatia gives the film's crew her review as Kapil Dev, and she leaves the theatre after watching it.

Saqib Saleem, Qureshi's brother and the movie's producer is shown in the video accompanying Dev before the former cricketer meets his wife, Romi Bhatia and introduces the movie's cast. Bhatia compliments the movie and tells the cast, "You girls have lived my life. I was that size when we met (pointing at Kapil Dev)." People would comment that he is marrying that aunty when we got engaged, which made her want to cry, she added.

Bhatia referred to the movie as a "must-watch," She added that she had already texted the actors in a few of her WhatsApp groups to encourage them to see the movie. Earlier, the movie's director, Farah Khan, had also given it high marks for being relevant. She stated, "Being a double XL myself, I thought the boys were very cute; also, the girls were wonderful, but the boys were very cute also," in a video from the movie's special showing for directors. She further said, “I think all of us who are constantly dieting or trying to lose weight or everybody will identify with it.”
