Dil Bekaraar features veteran actors Poonam Dhillon, Padmini Kolhapure and Raj Babbar in key roles, along with Akshay Oberoi, Sahher Bambba and Anjali Dinesh Anand. The series is adapted from Anuja Chauhan's hit 2013 book Those Pricey Thakur Girls.

Kolhapure took to Twitter to share the teaser of her upcoming series, writing, "Thoda pyaar, thodi takraar, Aapke saamne pesh hai Thakur Parivaar."

The show has been helmed by Habib Faisal, known for directing films like Do Dooni Chaar, Ishaqzaade and Qaidi Band, along with Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani.

The series derives its name from an 80s song by the same name, from the film Teri Meherbaniyan, featuring Jackie Shroff and Dhillon.

What's the series about?

The teaser doesn't give much away about the series, except that it is set in the 80s and focuses on the Thakur family. But if it is indeed adapted from Chauhan's book, then Dil Bekaraar will be the story of the daughters of the Thakur household in Delhi and their contrasting personalities and vivacious lives. There is no clarity about the degree of modifications its makers might have made to adapt it for the OTT.

It also appears that Raj Babbar plays the role of Thakur family's head, while Dhillon essays the role of his wife. The series brings back several memories from the decade with "Deshdarpan News" VCR sets, vintage cars, typewriters, and a colour palette and with couture that we all associate with 80s.

The series will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
