#ProudWife Post By Aishwarya Rajinikanth Goes Viral After Dhanush Announces Split

Dhanush-Aishwarya split has been making headlines after the South Indian actor announced the news on his Twitter timelines on January 17.

The couple has decided to go separate ways after being married to each other for the past 18 years. Aishwarya and Dhanush took to their separate social media handles to announce the separation and asked their fans and followers to respect their decision and give them privacy.

In a joint statement, the couple wrote, "Eighteen years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate. Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better."

Soon after the news started doing rounds, Aishwarya's old post for her husband Dhanush and father Rajinikanth went viral. In the picture with her father and husband, Aishwarya had written, "They are mine... and this is history #prouddaughter #proudwife." Many fans started re-sharing the post and asked about what could have happened in the last three months. One user wrote, "#Aishwaryaa was so happy for Appa #Rajinikanth & husband #Dhanush when they won the award few months ago. Suddenly what went wrong. Seeing the Insta of Aishwarya clearly says she was so happy. Now, this ?????"

Many old pictures of Aishwarya and Dhanush were shared on social media where fans reminisced about the happy times. One social media user wrote, "This post made me happy a couple of months back, but now the same makes me sad." Similar comments were posted by netizens. They expressed curiosity over what must have happened between the couple that they decided to call it quits.

The couple got married in 2004 and have two sons together named Yatra and Linga. The viral post from three months ago was posted by director Aishwarya when Dhanush and Rajinikanth had received awards at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony. Rajinikanth was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award while Dhanush got the Best Actor Award. See the post here. 

Aishwarya and Dhanush have worked together in Tamil films. She had made her directional debut with the Tamil film titled 3 in which Dhanush and Shruti Haasan played lead roles. The viral song that still receives love from the fans named Why This Kolaveri Di was also part of the same film. Aishwarya has also directed films such as Vai Raja Vai.

Actor Dhanush was recently seen in a Bollywood film titled Atrangi Re starring Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. The film has been directed by Anand L Rai and receieved mixed reviews from the audience. Dhanush will also be seen in Hollywood film titled The Gray Man which will also have Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana De Armas in lead roles.
