Kangana Ranaut took to social media today, to share the renewed release date of her action-thriller film Dhaakad. Ranaut will be playing the role of a fierce secret agent, code-named Agni in the film. Earlier the film was slated to release on April 8, 2022. The film has been postponed multiple times, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, the actor had shared a glimpse of her look as Agent Agni with her followers. Ranaut, who is known for films like Queen, Tanu Weds Manu, Manikarnika, amongst others, shared a picture of herself dressed in all black with a rifle in hand and a burning upturned vehicle in the background. The new image of Agent Agni shared by Ranaut on Monday too seems to be from the same action sequence.
Directed by Razy Ghai, Dhaakad features Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles. According to Ranaut more than Rs 25 crores have been spent to make this action film.

Dhaakad New Release Date
Today, Ranaut shared another poster from the film. Here she is seen holding a rifle, surrounded by a team of people in uniform and helmets, which makes her stand out as she is dressed in all black with a high ponytail.
She shared the image with the caption, "The unstoppable force of #AgentAgni is fast approaching! (emoji) The action spy thriller #Dhaakad will set the big screen on fire in four languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam on May 27, 2022. @rampal72 @divyadutta25 @razylivingtheblues @deepakmukut @smaklai @hunarmukut @krulz59 @sohamrockstrent..."
Ranaut is currently hosting a reality television show Lock Upp for Alt Balaji and MX Player. The show features controversial celebrities like controversial comedian Munawar Faruqui, Poonam Pandey, Nisha Rawal, Tehseen Poonawala, Payal Rohatgi and Swami Chakrapani mong others.
On April 9, she has an upcoming summons from the Punjab Court for a tweet against a woman farmer protester, whom she misidentified. Other than her work, Ranaut has also been in the news for her comments on actor Alia Bhatt and her recent film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali- Gangubai Kathiawadi. She called Bhatt a "romantic bimbo" and "papa ki paari" on social media, further predicting that Bhatt's film of Mafia queen will sink in the box office.
Contrary to Ranaut's predictions, the film seems to be doing well and has been praised by the critics, particularly Bhatt's dominating acting as Gangubai, the lead. Today, Ranaut reshared her sister Rangoli's posts on the Instagram story about Gangubai's success and wrote, "Movie mafia mathematics....75 crores film does 43 crores in three days and they call it ultra disaster...168 crore film does 35 crores and it's a super hit." Rangoli had posted a Ranaut's film Manikarnika, writing, "No 200cr budget, No big director, No big hero, no mafia racket PR, no solo release was fighting with films like Uri and Balasaheb Thackeray...The record stands tall and on top (emojis)."
