The global audience waits with bated breath, wondering when Derry Girls Season 3 will come to the OTT. The show has already premiered in Ireland and so far, three episodes of Derry Girls Season 3 have been released. With this season, the Irish drama show which follows the adventures of high school friends during the 1990s, will come to an end.

Derry Girls' cast includes Nicola Coughlan, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn. The show follows the adventures of five teenagers in the quaint town of Derry in Northern Ireland- an era when the region was undergoing immense political turmoil. Despite the political instability gang finds a way to incorporate fun, drama and misadventures into their day to day life. The show is based on the experiences of creator Lisa McGee who grew up in Northern Ireland during the 1990s.

Creator Lisa McGee had earlier revealed that Derry Girls Season 3 will be the final season of the series. This means that it is expected that the girls will soon graduate from high school as political unrest too comes to an end.

Derry Girls Season 3 Plot

The first episode of Season 3 came out on April 12 and subsequent episodes have been scheduled to release on a weekly basis. The season opened up with the girls receiving their GCSE results in the first episode titled "The Night Before". The girls are anxious about scoring bad and contemplate running away while ending up getting arrested. The second episode discusses two independent stories as they collide later on. It is suspected that Ma Mary is having an affair with a hot plumber while the girls will be performing at the concert in the school for children in need.

The latest and third episode "A Stranger on a Train" revolves around a train journey in which various stories collide as the kids and adults sit in separate carriages.

The six-part series will further reflect upon the relationships between the characters as they witness various adventures together. There's supposed to be a haunted house, an interaction with a psychic, an interesting school reunion of the class of 1977 and a Halloween celebration gone wrong in the upcoming episodes.

In a Twitter post, actor Nicola Coughlan revealed to her fans that the Season 3 will have the "best" storylines for their viewers. Talking about the plot of Season 3, Coughlan mentioned in an interview, "They’re about to get their GCSE results, and they’re slightly older but not really any wiser. They’re not kids any more, and they have to face some harsh realities of life. It changes them."

Derry Girls Season 3 Episode 4 will come out on May 3, 2022 on Channel 4. However, there is no Netflix release date for the series finale season as of yet.
