Deepika Padukone Invests In Pet Care platform: A digital pet care platform and website recently announced that Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has invested in a USD 2.6 million investment round.
According to an official release, Saama Capital and DSG Consumer Partners led a funding round, with other investors including Titan Capital, Sauce VC, and Whiteboard Capital. However, details about individual investments were not disclosed by the company.
Supertails, digital pet care platform, is based in Bengaluru, which is also Padukone’s home city. Supertails aims to provide assistance to pet parents in terms of veterinary care and regular food supplies. It encompasses the vision to make India a pet-friendly nation.
The Bajirao Mastani star is among the few Bollywood celebrities who invest in startups, reported Economic times. Deepika in the past has made monetary contributions to companies such as Blusmart, Drums Food International, Bellatrix Aerospace.
Recently, Deepika also invested in Nua, a company that works for menstrual sanitation and hygiene products. The actress supports the company’s vision to challenge taboos around menstruation by leveraging its vibrant online community of over 4 lakh women.
Deepika’s Support For Start-ups and Similar Steps Taken By Other Actors
Apart from Deepika, Jacqueline Fernandez regularly invests in a couple of start-up fitness brands and companies, including Rakyan Beverages. Additionally, Pragya Kapoor, Ronnie Screwvala and Madhuri Dixit are other celebrities who have supported small and upcoming businesses.
While Kapoor has invested in companies that promote and share her vision of a sustainable, cruelty-free world, Screwvala has invested in UpGrad, a platform analogous to a school for aspiring entrepreneurs.
