The newly released song Besharam Rang by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone from their upcoming movie Pathaan has sparked controversy. Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, has voiced his opposition to the song.
The minister was enraged that the movie featured saffron-coloured costumes. He further asserted that the film contains some objectionable scenes and threatened to have Pathaan banned from Madhya Pradesh if those scenes weren't altered. The song undoubtedly won many hearts, but it will be interesting to see how the makers react now that trouble has knocked on their door.
The activists of a Hindu outfit group in Indore gathered at a road intersection and set effigies of actors Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan on fire. They demanded to ban the film, which is set to hit the screens in January next year, alleging the Hindu community is feeling offended by the content of the Besharam Rang song.
However, this is not the first controversy surrounding Padukone's song or movie. Here are times when the actor's films or songs landed her in controversies.

After a two-month battle, the film with the original title Padmavati was finally released under the name Padmaavat.
The Ram Leela controversy
Due to its association with the name of the Hindu deity Ram, the film's original title, Ram-Leela, was disapproved by the audience. Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and director Sanjay Bhansali were named in a FIR filed by the Jalandhar police. Following this, the movie's original name, Ram Leela, was changed to Goliyoon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
