Shah Rukh Khan announces Alia Bhatt starrer Darlings: Actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to announce the next venture of his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, Darlings. The film will star Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah in the lead role. While Khan will be producing the film, he may not be acting in it. This film will also mark the first production under Alia Bhatt's new banner.
In the announcement shared by Khan, is has been revealed that Darlings will be directed by debutant director Jasmeet K Reen, who is known to have written films like Fanney Khan, Force 2 and Pati Patni Aur Woh. Bhatt, apart from acting in the film, will also be co-producing the film alongside Red Chillies' Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma. The film will also feature Gully Boy fame actor Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew.
Darlings is a dark comedy with a women-centric theme. The announcement video shared on social media says, "Statutory Warning: Auraton ka apmaan, apki sehat ke lie haanikaarak, bahut haanikaarak ho sakta hai."
Shah Rukh Khan shared the announcement made by Red Chillies Entertainment on Twitter, writing, "Life is tough Darlings, but so are you....both! Unleashing our #Darlings onto the world....Caution is advisable. PS : yeh comedy thodi dark hai..."

Bhatt revealed in a tweet that Darlings will be her first production under her brand new banner Eternal Sunshine Productions.

Currently, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the theatrical release of her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is based on a chapter from author Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, which revolves around the life of Gangubai Kothewali, also known as the 'Madam of Kamathipura’.
