All About 'Cuttputlli' Release Date And Time: Read Here

Akshay Kumar and Rakulpreet Singh's film Cuttputlli is all set for its release this week. As Hindi films continue to struggle at the box office, the makers of this crime thriller have opted for a direct OTT release. However, viewers will still put the film to a test to know whether it is worth their time of not.

The thriller is set in the quaint hill station town of Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, and revolves around a cat and mouse chase between a cop and a serial killer. Kumar plays the role of cop Arjan Sethi who finds himself investigating a series of gruesome killings. The serial killer has already struck twice, leaving the bodies of his targets in public spaces for the police to find, as if to taunt them. Sethi predicts that he is already planning for his third attack.

So what's Sethi's strategy to hunt his suspect down? "Serial killer ke sath power nahi mind games khelna chahie," he tells his superior. Now Sethi has to race against the clock and take all possible measures to make sure that he nabs the killer whenever they make an error. But will his plan succeed?

Cuttputlli has been directed by Ranjit M Tewari, who is known for helming films like Lucknow Central starring Farhan Akhtar and Bell Bottom featuring Kumar in the lead. Speaking about his second collaboration with the actor, Tewari said, “Being given an opportunity to collaborate with Akshay sir for the second time was extremely humbling and exciting." Tewari said that he was attracted to"> Cuttputlli because the work of police forces has always intrigued him. "I wanted our audiences to visually experience the mental acumen and perseverance along with the physical handwork that goes into solving a case," he further added.

Akshay Kumar, who returns to playing the role of a cop after Sooryavanshi in 2021, said that the film is filled with enthralling twists and turns. Elaborating on his role in the thriller, he said, "I play an underdog investigation officer, Arjan Sethi who is on a trail to catch the psychopath killer whose motives are unpredictable and unclear. Here, revenge is an illusion and the last act of the movie is unthinkable and will take you by total surprise - and that’s what makes it unique!!"

Cuttputlli will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar from September 2. Viewers in the United States can watch the movie via Hulu app.
