Cuttputli Cast, Trailer, Release And Plot

The trailer of the movie released recently revealed Akshay Kumar in the lead role of a cop who is heading the case of a serial killer in Kasauli who kills school-going girls and leaves their bodies in public places. The killer is still out of the police's reach and they try everything in their hand to track down his next victim and save her in time. The trailer touches on issues of child abuse and abduction and hints at exploitation in school. The movie was earlier titled Mission Cinderella and was filmed in Dehradun and Mussoorie.

Along with Akshay Kumar, the movie will also feature Rakul Preet Singh in the role of a school teacher assisting in the investigation, Gurpreet Ghuggi and Sargun Mehta in the role of cops on Kumar's team. Other actors in important roles include Shahid Latief, Sujith Shankar, Chandrachur Singh, Jitendra Rai and Sikander. The movie is rumoured to be inspired by the true events of the case of child killings that took place during the period 1964 to 1985 in the Soviet Union. Anatoly Yemelianovich Slivko was a similar necrophile and sexual predator serial killer from the Soviet that was found guilty of killing seven teenage boys because he felt sexually aroused and pleasured by killing them.

The synopsis of the movie on IMDb reads, "A cop's mission to track down a child abduction racket in the city. With inspector officer Akshay Kumar and police officer Manjit Singh." The movie is all set to release on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 2, 2022.
