Cold Case Release Date, Cast, Streaming Details: What You Should Know

Cold Case release date:  Prithviraj Sukumaran is all geared up for the release of his first ever direct OTT release- Cold Case. The highly anticipated Malayalam thriller boasts of an impressive supporting cast and twisted plot full of jump scares.

Cold Case is an eerie film that mixes  supernatural influence in a natural setting. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen on screen as a police officer, who trusts his logical skills to solve the case.

Directed by cinematographer Tanu Balak and produced by Anto Joseph, Cold Case promises its audience a thrilling and engaging movie. The film also features actors Aditi Balan and Suchitra Pillai in prominent roles. Actors Lakshmi Priya, Alencier Lopez, Anil Nedumangad, and Athmiya are also part of the film's cast.

The story of the film revolves around a police officer named Sathyajith and a cold case he is trying to solve. However, his case is different from the things a normal cop would have to deal with, as it involves supernatural events and untold secrets left behind by spirits departing from earth.

The production team has stated that actor Sukumaran will be seen in a different light in the upcoming film. Although the actor has played cop roles in other films before, they guarantee that this will be very different from those previous roles.

Cold Case Release Date

While Cold Case was initially set to be released in theatres, the COVID-19 pandemic has made that impossible. With v theatres being closed, the film will have an OTT release. Cold Case is set to premiere on the Amazon Prime Video platform. Subscribers of the OTT platform will be able to stream the movie from June 30.

The trailer of the film was launched on June 21. It begins with discovery of a “mutilated skull”, based on whose condition, police officer Satyajith (Sukumaran) rules out natural death for the deceased. Satyajith finds himself in pursuit of a serial killer who is “very crooked, creative and brilliant" while trying to solve this cold case and is pulled into a world of supernatural events, spirits seeking vengeance and people caught in between.
