Chinmayi Sripada Slams Sathish For Making Comments On Dharsha Gupta's Outfits

Actor-comedian Sathish has come under fire from singer Chinmayi Sripada for remarks about co-star Dharsha Gupta's outfit at a recent event.

Sripada posted a video from the Oh My Ghost audio launch in Chennai featuring Sunny Leone, Dharsha Gupta, and Sathish. She criticised him for judging a woman's ethics and culture based solely on her attire.

Sunny Leone wore a green saree to the event, and Dharsha Gupta wore a blue outfit. Sathish pointed out that Sunny Leone, from Mumbai, was wearing a saree, whereas Dharsha Gupta, from Coimbatore, chose to wear a western outfit for the day. Later, Sathish clarified this at the event and claimed that his remarks were intended to be humorous and that he was merely praising Sunny Leone for adapting to his culture. His remark, however, did not sit well with Chinmayi Sripada.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Chinmayi Sripada slammed Sathish for judging a woman's culture by the clothes she wears. “I mean - To point at a woman and ask for mass heckling of a crowd by a "man on a woman who doesn't dress according to culture". When will males stop acting like this?" She wrote, "It's not funny."Sathish has not yet responded to the tweet from Chinmayi or the video in which he is heard criticising Sunny and Dharsha's outfit. A user in favour of the comedian wrote, "What’s funny is..pointing this out and making a fuss!! Why feminists and feminism is this much poking into someone’s issues! FYKI, Darsha laughed out loud at that comment, and why are you bringing this up as an issue!?"Another user supported the singer and tweeted, "I always find Satish, who is non-talented as a comedian, make these creepy comments about women. He and Partheeban cringe to the max."

Sunny Leone, Dharsha Gupta, Yogi Babu, Ramesh Tilak, Sathish, and GP Muthu are notable actors who will appear in the upcoming Tamil film Oh My Ghost. The ensemble was present at the recent audio launch of the movie in Chennai. One of the key highlights of the evening was Sunny, who travelled especially from Mumbai for the launch. On social media, followers posted images and videos of the actor from the occasion.
