The Starry Night also demonstrates how inseparable Gogh's vision was from the new painting techniques he had developed. She made the decision to honour her husband with special artwork rather than by inking his name in her Mehendi. Anjali, the bride, asked her Mehendi artist to depict some of her favourite works of art, including The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Both the bride and the Mehendi artist posted the footage on Instagram. More than 5 lakh people have viewed it.
Her post read, “Weddings can be anxiety-inducing. Especially if things aren’t in your control and are being orchestrated by the families. This is part of the many little things I did to calm myself down and add a touch of Anjali to each ceremony.”
From impressionism and expressionism to pop art and even graffiti - her Mehendi featured all. The reel also showed Japanese impressionist painter Hokusai’s famous The Great Wave Of Kanagawa.
Kamal Clara, a passionate henna artist since 1993 specialising in bridal and commercial henna designs, was the person behind the execution of the bride’s unique idea of professing her love for the groom.

In this marriage, colour and paint both described a world outside the traditional way of tying the knot and simultaneously telegraphed their own personalities. The original paintings are dominated by vivid blues and yellows applied with gestural verve and immediacy.
