It's A Wrap! Ayan Mukerji, Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor Finish Shooting Brahmastra Part 1

After incessant delays due to the pandemic induced lockdowns, the much-awaited mythological-adventure film Brahmastra finally is ready for release. Team Brahmastra recently wrapped up the shoot for its first part in Varanasi. The film's director Ayan Mukerji and lead Alia Bhatt shared the same on social media.

Mukerji posted two pictures on Instagram and one of them was a peek at perhaps the final shot of part one. The first picture features Mukerji posing outside the Kashi Vishwanath temple, with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. All three had garlands of marigold around their neck and sported a tika on their foreheads.

The second picture was from one of the song sequences in the film. It looks picturesque as Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor pose with their hands in the air in a blue boat, in the company of numerous seers.

Brahmastra Part 1 Release Date Locked

Alia Bhatt/InstagramRelieved about the wrap-up, Mukerji took to Instagram and wrote, "5 years since we took our first shot on Brahmastra, and we've finally filmed our last one! Absolutely incredible, challenging, once-in-a-lifetime journey!!! Some hand of destiny that we finished the shoot of Part One: Shiva' in Varanasi- a city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, and that too at the most sacred Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to finish in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blessings (emoji)."

"Exciting days ahead, last lap ahead! 09.09.2022- Here we come! (emoji)," he added.

Bhatt also took to her social media to announce the wrap-up and share the same two images along with a bonus video of the two actors dancing on the boat while the camera zooms out. She wrote, "We started shooting in 2018. And now...finally..The filming of Brahmastra (Part One) comes to an end!! I've been wanting to say this for such a long time.. IT'S A WRAP!!!!!! (fire emojis)."

Brahmastra is a multi-starrer action-adventure, which also stars Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy. It is reportedly based on a superhero epic that has its roots in mythology. The release date coincides with a partial holiday for the Ganesh Visarjan, especially in Maharashtra. It has been reported that the epic was made with a Rs 300 crore production value and will be released pan-India in multiple languages.

The film was scheduled to release on August 15, 2019, and then was pushed to Christmas of the same year and later to the summer of 2020. However, plans of release in that period also changed because of the pandemic and the date kept shifting. After much delay, Brahmastra will finally be releasing on September 9 this year.
