5 Bollywood Defamation Cases That Have Caught Our Attention!

Nora Fatehi has recently slammed a defamation case against actor Jacqueline Fernandez as Fatehi was recently called by the ED for the ongoing money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar. It is not the first time Bollywood is looking at defamation cases making headlines.

There are many instances happened in Bollywood where certain comments by one celebrity have made a big controversy leading to a case of defamation. From Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty to Javed Akhtar and Kangana Ranaut, they have expressed their mind and sought justice for their narratives.

Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez

Nora Fatehi claimed that she had to suffer losses in business deals due to her name being involved in the ongoing money laundering case of conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Jacqueline Fernandez was suspected to have been in a relationship with the conman and received expensive gifts from him, she has been called by the Enforcement Directorate quite a few times. At one such time, Fernandez mentioned to the officials that she was not the only one who received such gifts from Chandrasekhar other actors from Bollywood like Nora Fatehi also did. Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra Against Sherlyn Chopra

Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Raj Kundra filed a 50 crore rupees defamation case against Sherlyn Chopra for her accusations against Raj Kundra. This was following Sherlyn Chopra's complaint against Kundra's sexual harassment and cheating. Chopra told the media, "I have filed a complaint to register FIR against Raj Kundra for sexual harassment, cheating and criminal intimidation." Earlier that year Kundra was arrested for a pornography case that involved 11 others, he got bail later and Chopra mentioned that Kundra had pressured her for photoshoots and pursued her for other video content earlier.

Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar had filed a defamation case against a YouTuber from Bihar who had accused Kumar of being involved in the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Reports say that he slammed a 500 crore rupees case on the person for "false and baseless allegations". This happened in 2020 when a legal notice was sent that claimed that the accused person had uploaded several defamatory and derogatory videos against the actor.

Javed Akhtar and Kangana Ranaut

Javed Akhtar had slammed a defamation case against actor Kangana Ranaut also during the controversy of Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Akhtar claimed that Ranaut had spoken some baseless and derogatory comments against him and damaged his reputation by dragging his name into the discussion.

Richa Chaddha

Actor Richa Chaddha had filed a defamation case of 1.1 crore rupees against the television channel ABN Telegu and personality Kamal R Khan for posting false information and an attempt of ruining her reputation. Reportedly, the actor had accused the channel broadcasted and uploading defamatory videos that contained details of an alleged sexual assault involving the actor. And Khan had shared links to these videos on social media.
