PCOS or PCOD manifests in different forms for different individuals. For some, it may result in weight gain or struggle in losing weight, for some it may cause hair growth, irregular menstrual cycles and whatnot.

Celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Pretty Little Liar actor Sasha Pieterse, Glee actor Lea Michele and others have openly spoken about their diagnosis of PCOD/PCOS and how they deal with it. A bunch of Indian celebrities have also opened up and spoken about how they have been dealing with the condition. Here's a list of celebrities who opened up about their tryst with PCOS or PCOD and what helps them deal with it functionally.

Sara Ali Khan

The Kedarnath actor talked about being overweight due to her condition on Koffee with Karan. Looking at her old photos and videos on the show she said “It is one of the things that I struggle with to date because the only real cure is a constant, consistent, focused, and determined lifestyle change. There is no shortcut to it.”

Sara Ali Khan also mentioned how she deals with her hormonal imbalance as she remarked, “For me, the most functional way to deal with PCOS is to eat healthily, sleep in a regimented way- try to regularize your body clock and to get in a certain about of work out every day if you can so that your hormone levels remain stable.”

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor opened up to her fans on Instagram about her struggle with PCOS. She posted in her caption that how women find it very confusing as everyone’s symptoms are different and thus the struggles. To her fans, she mentioned her 3 tips for dealing with PCOS conditions.

Her health tips included Walking, Yoga and elimination of sugar from the diet. Neerja’s actor also highlighted the other most important parts of yoga, meditation and breathing exercises. “I feel what aggravates PCOS is stress, whether it is environmental stress, mental stress…stress is bad. Yoga and meditation and breathing have actually helped me combat that,” she added.

Shruti Hassan

Shruti Haasan discussed how she manages her PCOS in a recent Instagram post during one of her workouts. The actor spoke up to fans about how she was handling this condition and how she maintains her optimistic outlook. Shruti also acknowledged on her Instagram post how her body isn’t perfect but her heart is.

This is not the first time that she talked about her PCOS condition. In an interview with a fashion website, she mentioned getting diagnosed with severe PCOS at age of 26.

Masaba Gupta

Founder of the fashion line, the House of Masaba and actor Masaba Gupta talked openly about her PCOS condition with her social media fans. Having had PCOS for some 7-8 years now, Masaba Gupta is often seen coming to the rescue of girls who might be undergoing the same body issues.

Masaba posted on her social media how exercise, walking, and yoga helped her deal with PCOS. She writes in the caption, “My 7-9 am workout/walk/yoga is non-negotiable…also no ordering outside food on a weekday! Simple, ghar ka khaana.” Masaba also mentioned how this non-negotiable routine has helped her nearly cure PCOD. 

Dipika Kakar

Television actor, Dipika Kakar very recently told in an interview about being diagnosed with PCOS. Sasural Simar Ka actor also mentioned that her long working hours took a toll on her body, and she had never thought she could have this problem.

Dipika said, “I developed PCOS very recently. I never knew I had this problem. When we are shooting we don’t realise the long shooting hours,” She further mentioned how a change in diet and only having home-cooked food helped her deal with it.
